Privacy Policy

What we collect
When you create a family account, we store:
- Account info: your Google account (name, email address, and a Google user ID we use to sign you in). We never see your Google password.
- Family info: family name, member names, avatars, and colors you pick.
- Calendar data: events, pickup times, locations, and recurring schedules you enter.
- Analytics: counts of page visits, sign-in starts, and sign-ins, plus when your login was created and last seen. To count unique visitors we keep a random identifier in a first-party cookie, and we note which ad or link sent you here (campaign parameters). This is collected by us, first-party only — no third-party trackers, no advertising profiles.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser type) for security and debugging.
Children under 13 may start a family account, but the family stays locked until a parent or legal guardian approves it. Approval happens through the parent's own Google sign-in plus an explicit consent confirmation — we do not activate a child's account without it. The child's name and email are stored only to operate the family account, and the parent can review or delete the family's data at any time by contacting us at happypickupfamily@gmail.com.
How we use it
- To run the service: showing your family's calendar to your family's members.
- To understand how the service is used and improve it (aggregated analytics only — for example, how many visitors create a family).
- To keep accounts secure and fix bugs.
- We do not sell your data. We do not show third-party ads inside the app. We do not share your family's information with anyone except as required by law.
- We may advertise Happy Pickup on other platforms to invite new families. Those platforms have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
- Our hosting provider stores this data to run the service, and Google provides sign-in. They process it only to provide their services to us.
Who can see your data
Only members of your family (people who joined with your family's invite code) can see your family's calendar. We never mix one family's data with another's.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays as long as your family account exists. To delete everything, contact us at happypickupfamily@gmail.com and we will delete your family's account and all its data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.
